Family Vacation at the Lake In Grand Rapids, Minnesota

Secluded, quiet, and beautiful little corner of the world!

Deer Lake is often called the most beautiful lake in Minnesota for it’s crystal clear blue water that changes colors, but we call it “The Caribbean of The North!” Surrounded by thick forests of pine, balsam, birch and cedar, the lake is 4300 acres with 7 islands to explore.  This makes Deer Lake the ideal travel destination for a fun & relaxing family vacation. We are located on the southeast part of the lake so we get the best sunsets in the county.

Safe, Sandy Beach – Relax & Enjoy

Those of you with children will be glad to know we have a safe sandy beach! We have about 2000 feet of shoreline, and about 800 feet of broad sandy beach. The swimming area goes out gradually for about 200 feet with no holes or drop offs. One of the things we really like about Pineridge is it’s small size; there are never many people around. The mood of the place changes from week to week, and is shaped by those who are here. The closest thing to a scheduled activity is our weekly bonfire. Sometimes we do a little singing to the accompaniment of Gail’s guitar…others who play an instrument are encouraged to participate, and sometimes the kids in camp will delight us with an impromptu talent show…

Activities for the whole family can be found at the PineRidge Resort

The playground area has a teeter totter, bars, swings, tether ball, horseshoes, room for croquet, badminton, volleyball, and bocce ball which are all available for free. Sometimes we’ll have a volleyball game in the water. The game room has pool, foosball, air hockey, and ping pong. There is a swimming raft, and if you share a beer or a smile Steve may take you water skiing or tubing. Enjoy free use of the paddle boards, paddle boats, canoes, and kayaks!

The nearby area offers many recreational and educational side trips. Grand Rapids has several tennis courts and some of the prettiest golf courses in the state. The Forest History Center with it’s turn of the century logging camp is ten minutes away, and the famous iron range open pit mines are within 45 minutes.
